The email and photo arrived out of the blue – it was from Jill, who lives on Wasaga Beach in Canada. I had to google to see where she lives. That’s her in the banner above.
“Here’s a picture of me last spring on the beach. Wasaga Beach is the longest fresh water beach in the world. And you’re correct, I should be swimming every day – I’m lucky enough to live on the beach.”
When Jill shared her story with me, I knew I had to ask her to share it with you too. If you are in your post-menopause years too, I want you to have hope that yes indeed, there is a new chapter in your life and a new story that you can write!
“When I had my hysterectomy in 2008 at 53 years old I was already post-menopausal. I wasn’t sleeping and was sore but I pushed through the pain and kept lifting weights because I rode horses competitively and, so long as I lifted my weights, I was strong enough to manage the physical discomfort of my riding and my barn chores.
My sport was ‘cutting’, which is a rodeo event whereby both the rider and horse must enter the herd of cattle and try to cut one cow away from her herd members. It’s a very tough sport and popular in Australia as well as North America. My husband and I raised cattle to practice with.
My sleeping irregularities and sore joints never went away and everything peaked last December due to stress. That’s when I found you and your wonderful course!Â
I didn’t know that you could make some lifestyle changes and improve your sleep. I didn’t know that you could make some lifestyle changes and turn around some of the soreness and stiffness. Until I started reading the testimonials, I thought once you hit post-menopause, if you were one of the unlucky women who suffered, you just had to keep suffering.
I now know, without a doubt, that I can turn around at least some of the damage that’s been done by me being complacent over the years. I’m doing the work, and I’m already feeling the results!
I appreciate the exercises you pointed out and will watch my posture when I do my walks on the beach. I’m not much of a swimmer, but the lake is right outside my door and there is no reason why I can’t swim – I just tend to use the kayak or my stand up paddle board instead. If swimming would be better, I’ll give it a try.
Your knowledge that you’ve shared has been life-altering already and I’m just at the start of this journey! When working out and diet didn’t help with my weight or how tired and lethargic I was, I just didn’t know where to turn. Your program was my answer!”
